Located between Ft. Lauderdale and Pompano Beach Florida, Sea Ranch Lakes is a private residential community on the Atlantic Ocean which was originally named after the Sea Ranch Lakes Hotel.
40NORTH worked with the community and architect Vernon Pierce to redesign the existing 2 acre private Beach Club facility, taking advantage of the wide beach access and views to the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The project included a new clubhouse facility and outdoor living room area, as well as updated pool area, barbeque area, and incorporation of native Florida coastal vegetation. This particular section of Atlantic coastline beach is sea turtle habitat, and is protected and monitored by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC), and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI). Careful consideration was taken when designing the new outdoor spaces and access through the primary dune.
40NORTH provided conceptual master planning, concept and schematic design services for the Board of Directors of the property.
Politics scuttled the full renovations, and smaller improvements have been made since.
